Cindy and Greg

While Christmas has come and gone, we have some great memories of the holiday with our families. On Sunday, December 22 we made our way up to Washington, DC for a couple of days with mom and Stephen. We stayed at the Omni Shoreham hotel, it was nice and the service was excellent. On Christmas morning we made our way up to Toms River, New Jersey to spend time with Cindy’s family. Cindy’s mom is retiring this year (today actually) and will be enjoying 2008 and beyond as a retiree. After a couple of days in New Jersey we made the trek back down I-95 stopped in traffic at the Wilson Bridge and I-95 South near Dumfries, we made it back to Williamsburg late yesterday afternoon.

While it was great to see everyone, it was very nice to be back in our own bed. I wonder if we will be able to make it till midnight on New Years Eve?

Last Tuesday evening, the house that Linda, Jim, Brian, Kelsey, and Ginger called home went up in flames. For those that don’t know Linda is one of Cindy’s sisters. Everyone is okay, though Jim suffered some ankle injuries while trying to get out of the house. Brian was away at school and Linda and Kelsey were at Kelsey’s cheerleading practice. Ginger, the best golden retriever in the world was home with Jim, but he was able to get her out. In a matter of 10 minutes, everything then owned was either up in flames or  completely unusable from water and smoke damage. From the outside it doesn’t look to bad, but the inside is just devastating. One of Linda’s co-workers took some pictures, here they are.

We went up this weekend to spend time with the family. Everyone seems to be in good spirits, but are just trying to look around and figure out where to start.

Cindy is headed to NJ for a week or so this morning. She is on a mission to help her mother plan for retirement and to relax and get pampered by her mother for a little while.

So let’s all remember what happened the last time Cindy went to NJ for the weekend, Perceiva was born.

It should be a pretty boringweek with the exception of the new Mac Book Pro will be delivered (hopefully by Friday).

What a trip…it was a long drive, but a lot of fun. We left about 1pm in Providence, dropped off Cindy’s mom and sister in Tom’s River, NJ and continued down to Williamsburg. It wasn’t until we started driving in the rain that I become tired. Cindy was able to keep my awake with good conversation. We made it home by 11:30p after a quick stop at Wendy’s in “da bridge” better known as Woodbridge, just north of our old neighborhood.

The Murano was very comfortable on the drive up and down, good choice
