For a while now, we have been using Google’s PicasaWeb gallery for sharing photos. My friend Mark has been singing the praises of Flickr now for what seems like forever and I must admit I just never saw the attraction. I am now a convert. I even purchased a Flickr Pro account and have transfer our photo galleries over to them. I have even geo-tagged all but about 500 pictures (the pictures from Grandma’s apartment).

As many of you know Grandma (mother’s mom) passed away back in August. While cleaning our her apartment in Fishkill, we found hundreds of pictures dating back to the early 1900s. So I made a project of it, I spent a Saturday scanning all of them and putting them online. Some are simply fabulous, take a look at and let us know what you think…Shanley Family Pictures

Cindy and I had an incredible getaway vacation in Banff. Cindy celebrated her birthday with a Mountain Mint Pedicure at the Willow Stream Spa while I recovered from the travel with a jet lag massage and had an incredible dinner (perhaps the best we have ever had) at a small little wine bar called Grapes. We celebrated out anniversary by sitting in the jacuzzi overlooking the snow capped Canadian Rockies. There are few words that can describe the beauty of Banff, AB. We have approximately 300 photos in our gallery from the vacation.

On a funny note, while touring the town of Banff, we stopped into a local Tea Store and the proprietor tried to guess where we were from. His guess…Alabama (wtf?).

So this past week in Williamsburg has certainly been an event. The Queen of England stopped by for a spot of tea (actually a 2 day event tied to the 400th Anniversary celebration). Stephen made a trip down to take a tour of Jamestown and a couple of dinners at the local establishments. Take a look at the pictures from the weekend.

Now it is time to get ready for the President and his entourage that are coming next week.

Yesterday, Cindy and I ventured out with some local friends. We headed over to Will and Erica’s house around 10:30a. Cindy got to see how awesome their lawn looks and got to meet Duke, the family dog and model for the main page of caulford.org. We got the car all packed up and headed to Richmond. It was a beautiful day and I think we all spent entirely too much money, but we had a lot of fun. I picked up an Apple TV and then later in the day Will decided he needed one as well. I think I am in the dog house with Erica.

While walking around Pottery Barn Kids, we got some great pictures of Zack sitting in a mini-chair and one in a “big boy bed.” Take a look (click on the picture below)…

This entire year we have had nothing but a flurry, until yesterday, April 7, 2007. We actually had about 1.5 inches of snow if you can believe it. It was even enough to cause a tree branch to fall on some wires and for us to lose power for couple of hours. You can seem some pictures of the snow (and some tulips trying to live through the storm) in our new Google Picasa Gallery. But here is a preview:
