Words of wisdom?

So tonight is the State of the Union address from W (I wonder if he can spell that?). Shortly before the start of the speech of our nation’s leader (at least of the next 2 years), Cindy Sheehan was arrested for creating a “disturbance” in the visitor gallery of the Capitol. Yahoo News has the story that is breaking right now.

We are just biding our time until the next election. I am hoping to see John Edwards back in the race for President with perhaps Evan Bayh, former Indiana Governer or maybe Barack Obama.

Edwards today posted a vision for America, called The America We believe in…here is a snippet:

America risks losing our position as a global leader and our reputation for being the land of opportunity if we continue on the course that President Bush has set for us. We are fortunate, however, that our forefathers established a democracy that lets the people decide the ultimate fate of the nation.

I know we can create a country that works for all of us. We must focus on important goals that bring America together, such as fighting the battle against poverty, rewarding work and preparing our country for the challenges ahead.

If we are all truly equal in the eyes of the Lord and the Law; if we believe that there is dignity in hard work, then poverty has no place in America– the greatest, wealthiest nation on earth. God bless America, especially for our finest goals, and for our determination to meet the challenges that have been laid before us.

Take Action

Yeah, one can only hope :)

I kinda like Evan Bayh only because I lived in Indiana while he was govenor and I have seen him in action. But Obama appears to be one smart guy. With the southern genuine warmth that Edwards, I think that might be a ticket that will be hard to beat.

But at the end of the day, lets me real. Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny would be better then what we have now ;)
